As mentioned in my previous post, the asteroid 2010 TD54 will have a close encounter with the Earth tomorrow night at 8.50 pm AEST.
Correction (13 October 2010): The flyby took place last night. Somehow I messed up my time change (i.e. the website that the flyby time was listed in used another time zone)!
Patrick Wiggins (based in the USA) has just captured a series of images of 2010 TD54 moving across the sky and has turned them into a movie. He used a Celestron C-14 telescope operating at f/5.5 to capture the individual images. The telescope was set to allow 2010 TD54 to pass through the field of view. The movie is made up of 16 five second exposures shot between 6:51 pm and 6:54 pm AEST today. Thanks to Patrick for permission to use the movie.
