Antares, Mercury and Venus are currently visible low above the Western horizon in the evening twilight. I thought I prepare a finder chart for each hemisphere to show how different our views of the night sky can be. The first chart (below) has been prepared for an Australian observer on the East Coast.
The second chart (below) shows the view from New York (United States of America). Not only is Antares almost totally lost in the bright evening twilight, the Scorpion (of which Antares is the brightest star in) is almost totally below the local horizon.
