International Space Station passes over Canberra tonight (26 April 2018)

(Posted 26 April 2018) There is a very bright pass over Canberra tonight by the International Space Station. The space station will look like a very bright slowly moving star moving across the sky. Look in the North West at 6.18 pm AEST and follow it high into the sky. It will move silently to the South East and disappear into the Earth’s shadow at 6.24 pm AEST.

If you are new to looking for the space station, use the above finder chart to orientate yourself. The station will move to the right of the ‘Summer Saucepan’ (otherwise known as Orion’s belt) at 6.21 pm AEST.

The Heavens-Above.com website produces a fantastic finder chart which shows the Space Station’s movement across the sky. I have made a number of links to most Canberra suburbs so you can generate a chart. Go here and look for your suburb.
