Space Station photographed crossing Sun during Eclipse

Yesterday saw more than the Moon pass in front of the Sun. Amateur astronomer Thierry Legault used the Calsky satellite observing website to calculate where exactly in Sultanate of Oman he needed to be to photograph the International Space Station pass in front of the Sun while it was in eclipse. His impressive picture can be found here.

If you haven’t heard of Calsky, it offers similar prediction services to the Heavens-Above.com site which I provide bookmarks to for various locations around Australia. I prefer Heavens-Above because it’s star charts look nicer. Calsky is better however because it does things like transit predictions which Heavens-Above doesn’t.
