(Posted 14 April 2016) A visit to Ararat, Victoria has allegedly coincided with a high chance of seeing an aurora.

Bungee the Border Collie has come for a drive. Despite the lack of enthusiasm in the above image, she likes to come with us.

My significant other decided to trust the GPS directions – sending us down some very narrow country roads.

On the drive down from Canberra yesterday, we saw quite a dramatic sunset courtesy of the local farmers burning off.

I did breath a sigh of relief as we pulled up at at the first petrol station we came to when we got to Ararat. Only 10 km worth of petrol in the tank.

No aurora were visible this morning. I did get some nice unguided images of the night sky.

Mars and Saturn were easy to locate high in the sky while I waited in vain for the aurora. Hopefully tomorrow morning will bring better luck.
@Nightskyonline road trips are fun! fingers crossed for clear skies and good hunting tonight, i’m on a hat trick! 😀
