   No news from anywhere across Southern Australia. This is due to the fact that the CME (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coronal_mass_ejection) hasn’t arrived yet. This causes aurora.

   I don’t know anything about astronomy – Does the KP on this site (http://www.aurora-service.net/aurora-forecast/ )mean we are unlikely to see an aurora from Hobart this morning?

   Unfortunately it does. Until the CME turns up, nothing will be happening.

   How do you know the timing i.e. when the CME arrival /effect will be likely to occur?
   Is that where the solar wind speed gauges come into play? Is there anything else major to watch out for?
