Grab your binoculars and look for Uranus

On a serious note, if you haven’t seen Uranus and you have at least a pair of binoculars, now is the time to have a look at it. Uranus is close to a star called 44 Piscium making it easy to find if you have a bit of patience. The US Sky & Telescope magazine has further instructions here and a very nice finder chart here:

Just remember to turn the chart the other way around so it matches our sky. If you are unfamiliar with the sky, you can download and install the freeware Stellarium computer program and get it to show you where to look. I also use the Sky Safari app (Ipad or Android) if I am not sure where to look for something.
