Another excellent Hubble Space Telescope pass tonight for Brisbane and Gold Coast

The Hubble Space Telescope makes an another excellent pass or flyover of Brisbane and the Gold Coast tonight between 7.53pm and 8pm AEST. It will be easy to spot (assuming we have clear skies) and will look like a reasonably bright slow moving star. The pass is not exactly the same as last night. While the brightness will be the same, the Hubble Space Telescope will move into the Earths shadow before it drops below your local horizon.

The easiest way to spot the Hubble Space Telescope is to use the ‘Summer Saucepan’ (or what amateur astronomers refer to as the belt and sword of Orion ‘The Hunter’)  as a guide to looking for it. Just look at the ‘Summer Saucepan at exactly 7.58pm AEST. The Hubble Space Telescope will be the reasonably bright slowly moving star passing from left to right above the handle of the ‘Summer Saucepan’.
