If you are an early riser and want an easy astronomy event to spot, look above the Eastern horizon tomorrow morning to spot the planet Venus, the Moon and the planet Mercury apparently lined up above the Eastern horizon (see below finder chart). If you happen to be up the following couple of mornings (Tuesday and Wednesday), the Moon will be located closer to Mercury. Note that both Venus and Mercury look like stars to the unaided eye.
The chart can be used elsewhere in Eastern Australia. Just one hour if you live outside Queensland as ‘Summer Time’ is currently being followed elsewhere.
