Closeup released of ‘hole’ in Moon

NASA has released a closeup image of a pit located in Mare Ingenii on the Earth’s Moon.

The pit was previously discovered by the Japanese Lunar orbiter SELENE, and is believed to lead to an underground lava tube. This closeup by NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter resolves boulders that have fallen into the pit.
