International Space Station visible in morning sky

Brisbane and Gold Coast early morning risers can watch the International Space Station (ISS) pass over head in the morning sky over the next week. If you haven’t seen the ISS before, it will appear as a bright slowly moving star to the unaided eye, and can take up to eight minutes to pass overhead.

The best pass (or flyover) for Brisbane and the Gold Coast occurs on Wednesday morning (23 February 2011). The station will appear above the North Western horizon from 5.06am and move overhead. The ISS will move pass the Moon at approximately at 5.09am and set at 5.14am on the South East horizon.

Exact viewing times vary for each morning. Go here on this website for information on how to generate customised viewing information for your location.
