(Posted 13 January 2013) As I write this, the Siding Spring Observatory mountain top is on fire.
Staff have been evacuated from the mountain top and the local fire brigade is monitoring what is happening using the webcams located on various observatory buildings. If you are living in the area you should refer to the NSW Rural Fire Brigade website for further information.
