Venus and Jupiter continue to dazzle in the morning sky

If you are an early riser, don’t forget to look above the North East horizon for Jupiter and Venus.

They are the brightest objects in the morning sky. Note that even a pair of binoculars if held steady will show Jupiter as a disc with  (depending on when you look) up to four faint stars either side of it. These are Jupiters’ four largest moons.

Update: Wow! I was up early enough Tuesday morning (24 July 2012) to take a photo of Jupiter and Venus as the sky was starting to lighten. They were such an amazing sight.
