#CanberraAstronomy Space Station visible in morning sky 1 – 6 February 2017 to unaided eye.

(Posted 28 January 2017) If you are an early riser living in Canberra (Australian Capital Territory), you might like to look for the International Space Station over the period 1 – 6 February 2017. To the unaided eye, the Space Station will look like a slowly moving star passing overhead.

The International Space Station passes over Canberra on 14 November 2011 (the faint long line). The line of dots are the lines of a passing plane. (c) Paul Floyd 2011.

The highly recommended website HeavensAbove.com has further information and finder charts for the period 1 – 6 February 2017. Just remember that the charts are to be designed to be held over your head. Otherwise East and West won’t be orientated correctly.
