It’s official. No pot of gold at end of rainbow!

Sadly, I recently had one of the myths that I had been brought up with brought to a depressing end when I was lucky enough to finally see the end of a rainbow, only to discover that there was no gold in it!

No pot of gold spotted at end of rainbow!
No pot of gold spotted at end of rainbow! The apparent ‘end’ of the rainbow is in front of the white car – some 30 meters from where I was standing when I took the picture.

I even checked Wikipedia and confirmed that ‘… Leprechauns spend all their time busily making shoes, and store away all their coins in a hidden pot of gold at the end of the rainbow’. On a serious note, I felt very lucky that I happened to be standing in the right spot to see the ‘end of a rainbow’. I think it is a first in my time watching the sky. More can be found about rainbows on Wikipedia.
