Sadly, I recently had one of the myths that I had been brought up with brought to a depressing end when I was lucky enough to finally see the end of a rainbow, only to discover that there was no gold in it!
I even checked Wikipedia and confirmed that ‘… Leprechauns spend all their time busily making shoes, and store away all their coins in a hidden pot of gold at the end of the rainbow’. On a serious note, I felt very lucky that I happened to be standing in the right spot to see the ‘end of a rainbow’. I think it is a first in my time watching the sky.
