Venus and a passing plane

I left it a little late to try and get the Pleiades and Venus this evening. The below image was taken at 6.36pm AEST.

The interesting thing about the image (apart from the horizontal line which is made by the lights of a passing plane) is the colour of Venus. It isn’t the colour it would be if it was higher in the sky. It is more yellow than the white it should be due to dust in the atmosphere.

2.5 second exposure at 1600 ISO using a DSLR mounted on a stationary tripod.
